(Money will come to you when you are doing the right thing.)
I have to say, this fortune had me really thinking. Of course, being a self-supporting college student my initial reaction was "Thank God!" seeing as how I am perpetually broke. Then the philosophy of the fortune set in. If I'm doing something wrong, will I continue to live off of Ramen? Does it mean that doing the wrong thing will drain my pockets? Maybe the fortune cookies are trying to tell me to spend less money on alcohol...
Let's put it in perspective. At my current job, if something goes wrong, I'm likely to make less money (waiting tables isn't all that lucrative people, tip your server well.) Or worse, if something goes terribly wrong, getting fired is an option and I'll make no money. So in this sense, yes Fortune Cookie, doing the right thing will (hopefully) bring in more money.
Now, looking at it from a much more philosophical stand point, a common belief about money is that it is the "root of all evil." What about drug dealers? They make lots of money. But that's not doing something that's morally "the right thing."
Or after I graduate. I get a great job with the fancy corner office and I'm raking in the dollar signs – is that what is supposed to be "the right thing"?
And I thought giving to charities and giving away all of your wealth was "the right thing"?
No matter how you put it, it comes down to making money. What you do to get it I guess is up to you, as long as you do it with a little bit of dignity.
Then again, maybe it's just a silly fortune.
