(The weekend ahead predicts enjoyment.)
And from the smeared and water logged fortune, I do believe it did. The previous nights hadn't been the best, but last night was fun. There is nothing drinking games with good friends. Even waking up with the hangover, the first words on my lips are always "Damn. I love college." Well, that is, right after "Oh I'm never drinking again because my head is pounding and my teeth feel like they are wearing sweaters."
Drinking always seems to lead to something I call "Personality Saturation." When we measure time in drinks, we are ourselves (or at least who we want to be or think we are) we are just far more ourselves. We throw caution to the redbull and vodka and take a chance on things we wouldn't normally be caught dead doing. We are far more honest and sometimes it works in our favor while other times it sends that new guy you were kind of hopeful about running for his life. We are louder, more out going, and, at least in my case, riding the emotional roller coaster as fast we can. The faster the better.
Whenever inebriated (drug of choice) we tend to turn up the saturation on ourselves. We are more of who we are because we are much less afraid of being embarrassed. We feel everything whole-heartedly and if we're lucky, we remember it. We are invincible for a few drunken moments and it feels fantastic.
The hard part now is to hold on to it through the hangover and try to be more like it in our day to day lives, although sometimes it's difficult without the blurry vision and red solo cup.
