(A pleasant surprise is in store for you.)
Sorry I missed yesterday. I opened the fortune but never posted anything, but it led to an interesting turn of events.
The fortune said I had a pleasant surprise. I didn't really know what to make of this, so I dragged my butt out of my comfy bed, got ready for a job that 85% of the time I despise, and went to work, where I had an awesome night. It was a pleasant surprise indeed.
Hmm, maybe these tasty little cookies know more than we all think.
And maybe, in relation to the last post, they are sometimes predicting the future instead of just interpreting life.
And as for today, post pleasant surprise:

Well it's about damn time! Hahaha
I like this one. A lot. And I'm not sure if it's because it's just a good thought– that something is going to go right regardless of my previous actions– or I like it because it's hopeful. Maybe both, maybe because I need something bigger than me reassuring me that, in the end, everything will be ok.
Wait, did I just refer to fortune cookies as a higher power? Wow, my Irish Catholic grandmother is rolling over in her grave right now.
Regardless, we do what we have to do to get by, and if that's believing in fortune cookies, well then it is what it is.
